Your most complex challenges and boldest opportunities deserve more than a consultant — they need a strategic partner who has led from the inside.

Not advice from the outside. Leadership from someone who has built the value-based care models, led the policy initiatives, and run the global operations she now advises on.

Caroline Piselli’s career traces one of the most distinctive arcs in American healthcare — from the bedside to the boardroom to the global stage.

Today, through Piselli Global Consultants®, she advises executive leaders, new venture founders, and investors, while continuing to provide executive and personal coaching, deliver invited lectures at Yale and other global organizations, and lead industry conferences — with 300+ engagements to date. She also remains deeply engaged in volunteer board service, including with Yale New Ventures, YSPH, YSN, and YSOM.

As a critical care nurse and clinical researcher in Yale New Haven Hospital’s CCU, she supported physician-inventors pioneering revolutionary advances, and co-led the field’s first wellness-and-ROI research and first health system partnerships.

At 3M Health Information Systems, as Global Strategy Executive, she directed value-based care clinical-economic research, helped shape new U.S. policy and quality-improvement standards, co-led the U.S. ICD-10 implementation, and drove commercialization and patents at enterprise scale.

As co-founder and COO of PricewaterhouseCoopers/Guidehouse’s Global Health Value Management and Population Health practice, she advised Ministers of Health and co-led landmark integrated consulting engagements for provider-payer-corporate networks, VA Community Care, and national EMR transformation.

The hard part is co-designing the market that makes better health possible.

Early in my career, I believed what most people in healthcare believe: that better health for all follows from clinical knowledge and practice alone. I spent years in ICU bedside care and clinical research chasing that belief.

One of the best mentors of my career taught me otherwise. At 3M, he led our team in inventing the clinical-economic risk adjustment methodologies that tie payment to outcomes — mechanics that continually improve, so the outcomes they drive keep compounding rather than plateauing. That is what makes healthcare sustainable, not just good.

I have spent the years since applying that lesson at scale: co-creating value-based care models for some of the largest payers and providers, rehearsing with executives before congressional hearings, and consulting with ministers of health abroad — customizing each approach to a country’s specific goals, customs, and constraints.
